Ideally, you just want to add a few drops to some water, and swish with it. When you are done, you should then spit that out into the sink so you aren't ingesting it in large quantities.
Which Oils Can Help You Most
If all you want to do is freshen your breath, a lemon essential oil diffused in water can do the trick. You should use 3-4 drops of lemon oil, 1-2 drops of peppermint oil, and 2 full cups of water to create your solution.
From there, swish and spit, and get a refreshing new scent on your breath. If your gums are sore, you want to go with a gum oil mix.
This should include 10 drops of tea tree oil, 6 drops of myrrh, 3 drops of lemon oil, 1 drop of peppermint oil, and 1 teaspoon of either coconut or almond oil.
Rub this gently on your gums after your oral hygiene routine to help reduce gum inflammation or pain. If the pain persists beyond a day or two, see your dentist.
For a toothache, combine two ounces of water with your choice of 1-2 drops of one of the following: clove oil, myrrh, peppermint, chamomile, or tea tree oil. They can reduce the pain until you can get into the dentist if you swish with them a few times a day!
All of these natural remedies have the power to help, but they are no substitute for good dental care. Contact our office today!
